John Brown’s Body Live at The Independent

November 1, 2006

My friends in John Brown’s Body came rolling through town again, playing live at The Independent on a rainy November night in San Francisco. Their lineup changed a little, with a new horn section and Elliot taking the sole lead vocals role, but the band played as tight as ever.

I snapped some great photos of the show, and despite being denied a soundboard patch, the venue permitted us to record what turned out to be a stellar audience tape. You can listen to the MP3’s of the entire show below or download the CD-Quality files from the Live Music Archive. So take a look at the photos (Flickr Slideshow), check out the concert recording, and make sure to go see one of America’s top reggae bands play live when they come through your town — they are not to be missed!
